Marion and Marion County residents saw 5 to 10 inches snow fall this past weekend. Warmer temperatures are anticipated during the week, with temperatures in the 50s for Christmas.
A charter ordinance to expand Marion City Commission will be considered at the next commission meeting.
Marion High School students of the month are Jordan Timm and Rachel Davidson.
A feature article in this issue tells of 16 days spent along the Mississippi coast by Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville as he and other Kansas Wildlife and Parks volunteers assisted in cleanup after Hurricane Katrina.
Marion Elementary School had its annual Geography Bee Dec. 14. Top finalists were Zach Robson, Olivia Young, and Elizabeth Goentzel. Goentzel won the bee and received a certificate and medal from National Geographic Society.
Dear Santa, I have been good for Christmas. I want a Game Boy. I also want video games to go with it (I don’t think those were on my list, so can you add them?) My sister wants a BRAT car, I think. She has been really good. (Gooder than I have, but I been good, too). I don’t know what my mom and dad want though. Have a safe trip. Love, Tyler Makovec.
