Melvin M. Gradert, 51, was sworn in Monday as associate district judge for Marion County District Court. More than 35 attorneys, law enforcement officers, and friends attended the official robing ceremony at 11 a.m. in the Marion County courtroom.

Members of Marion Chamber of Commerce were entertained Friday by 17 youngsters from Mary Ann Kohls’ School of Dance. The children performed three tap-dance routines, and 8-year-old Vicki Kay Hartley performed a solo Charleston routine for the more than 75 chamber members in attendance.
The bell choir of Eastmoor United Methodist Church presented a program April 7 at Neo-Century Club. Choir members are Tracy Burkholder, Melanie Conyers, Cindy Heerey, Nancy Kline, and Loraine, Loreen, and Janice Wiens. The choir is directed by Mrs. Jon Thole.
