Free movies will be shown again Saturday at the city building. Included will be an Abbott and Costello comedy and a cartoon with Woody Woodpecker. There also will be a film on dolls for girls and a film on men from Mars for boys.

Margaret Sellers, 15, of the Jayhawk 4-H Club was the winner this year of an annual cherry pie-baking contest conducted by 4-H and the Extension office. It is the third year in a row that Sellers’ cherry pie recipe won.

Marion High School graduates of recent years, home for the holidays and possibly interested in renewing school acquaintances, are being invited to visit the school Dec. 23. In addition to a get-together with coffee and donuts or cookies, visitors will be invited to attend classroom sessions. Later in the morning, they will be invited to the final pre-Christmas play presentations by the Thespian Club.

Brothers Edwin and William Seibel were injured Monday in a two-car accident on US-81 north of Wichita. Ed suffered a fractured skull, and Will, chest injuries. Both men were rushed to a Wichita hospital but were returned to St. Luke in Marion on Tuesday. Both are making satisfactory progress.

Albert Stenzel, Marion, won $170 in Wednesday’s Cash Days drawing. Mrs. Dan Miller, Durham, won $15. Mrs. Stuart Lucas, Marion, won $10, and A. L. Bogart, Marion, won $5. Ivan Schwendiman, Marion, was not present.

Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Roberts, Newton, announce the arrival of a baby girl, Dianne Lynn, born Dec. 8 at St. Luke Hospital and weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces.
