A community meeting Monday night in the Marion High School auditorium approved submitting to the city voters a question on whether they would like to see a modern swimming pool built here within the next year.

Hundreds of people from Marion and this trade territory have acclaimed this year’s big annual Spring Tractor and Merchandise show to be the finest, biggest, and best yet. The show, a two-day affair, started Wednesday and will be over at the close of activities Thursday evening.

The Marion High School play, “Fixers, Inc.,” which received a high rating at a Wichita regional and at Florence county meets, will go to the annual University of Kansas Speech and Drama Festival April 8 and 9. Cast members are Pat Brose, Bud Hannaford, Mary Heath, Donna Hobein, Bob Klein, and Kenneth Sly.

Patsy Harris, Marion, is one of 13 candidates for the title of “Co-ed Cowgirl” at Kansas State College.

“Dark Gal’s Minstrel” will be presented April 5 by the Community Guild at the city auditorium. Naoma Black is the interlocutor with Louise Blackim, Audrey Davies, Virginia Huey, Jerry Heath, Sadie Powell, and Marcella Waddell as end men.
