A picture by Leslie Broadstreet and his Moderne Studio is one of only 21 American photographs selected for display at the International Photography Salon in Norton-on-Tees, England. The picture is of Lloyd Davies and is entitled “The Sheriff.”

Pupils of Loveless School and their teacher, Mrs. Jack Spain, spent Wednesday in Wichita celebrating the end of the school year.

They visited KFH radio, the Wichita Beacon newspaper, the Wichita police department, Steffens dairy, Joyland Park, and the Sedgwick County Zoo.

They had lunch at Wolfs Cafeteria and a picnic supper in a park before attending a movie at 81 Drive-In.

Pupils going were Clarice and Roma Collett, Linda and John Wayne Gutsch, Gerry and Mary Herzet, Loretta Jewett, Etta Mae Rempel, Jon Soyez, and Jean and Judy Whitford.

Laura Jane Bredemeier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bredemeier, won the district preliminary contest Saturday at Salina for state Dairy Queen and went to Stockton for the state finals Wednesday.

A sizable contingent of Marion Boy Scouts went to Topeka and took part in ceremonies Saturday on the statehouse grounds dedicating a model of the Statue of Liberty presented to Kansas by the Boy Scouts.
