9 Bluejays awarded all-conference soccer honors

The Tabor College Bluejays men’s soccer team placed third in the conference regular season, placing seven players on the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference’s all-conference list.

Senior defender Adam Morley received Defensive Player of the Year honors, and forward Bransyn Felty was named
Freshman of the Year. Midfielder Marian Saar joined Morley and Felty on the KCAC first-team.

Junior forward Philipp Wahl was the only Bluejay chosen for the second-team, but Alberton Checa, a junior forward, and seniors Rafael Marins (defender) and Antoine Williams (goalkeeper) made the honorable mention.

Only two Bluejays made the women’s all-conference teams. Junior forward Jessica Renzelman earned second-team honors while junior defender Anna Friesen made the honorable mention.

Volleyball team also represented

Five players from Tabor’s conference co-champion squad earned all-conference honors.

Seniors Katie Kauffman, an outside hitter, and Hollister Wolf, a setter, made the first team. Outside hitters Tena Loewen and senior Jessie Vogts were voted to the second team. Loewen also was chosen as Freshman of the Year.

Senior libero Amy Jo Maphet was the lone Bluejay on the honorable mention.
