These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies. No information was released the previous week by Marion County sheriff’s office because of staff time off.

SHERIFF

Meridian Rd. north of 180th Rd.

A 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Dakota Nolte, 19, Canton, drove over a gravel windrow and rolled into a ditch at 5:15 a.m. Jan. 10. Nolte was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis. Deputy Travis Wilson reported inattention contributed to the accident.

US-56/77 south of 370th Rd.

Hollie Elder, 42, Derby, struck a dead coyote in the roadway with her 2014 Honda Accord at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6.

100 block of W. D St.

A 2011 Ford F-150 driven by Rachael Naerebout, 42, Marion, was stopped at D and Ash Sts. when it was struck from behind by a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Cody May, 24, Hillsboro. The Monte Carlo, owned by Leisa May of Troy, Ohio, and F-150 both sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. Officer John Huebert indicated ice on the road contributed to the accident.

100 block of W. D St.

Larry Cole, 75, Hillsboro, was making a left turn from Ash St. onto D St. at 1:12 p.m. Jan. 10 when his 2012 Dodge R1500 struck a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Benjamin Koop, 18, Hillsboro, that was going through the intersection in the outer lane of D St. Officer John Huebert’s report indicated that Koop reported he entered the intersection first and attempted to avoid the Dodge by moving to the outside lane. Huebert cited failure to yield the right of way and improper lane change by Cole as contributing to the accident, but no tickets were issued.
