Alice Bartel

Former missionary Alice Edna Bartel, 92, died Aug. 3 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925 to Daniel and Katherine (Ediger) Wiens in Marion County.

She married Jonathan Bartel in Marion County Sept. 1948.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel Bartel of Minneapolis, and Stanley Bartel of Salida, Colorado; daughter, Gloria Combs, Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Ernest Wiens, Hillsboro, and Emerson Wiens, North Newton; sister, Doris Guhr, Hillsboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Private services were held.
