Arts grants open

An artistic project for cultural and economic vibrancy or arts integration in the community could get launch money from one of two state grant programs.

Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission is accepting applications for its strategic investment and arts integration programs.

The strategic investment program supports projects using arts to enhance community vitality, generate local business, revitalize neighborhoods, impact tourism, and create and preserve job opportunities. Grants in this program include organizational development, new and expanded works, and equipment and technology.

The arts integration program supports arts at all levels of community service, education, and work force development. Grants are available for visiting artists, integrated arts education and innovative partnerships.

Deadline for application is Nov. 6 and grants will be effective beginning Jan. 1.

For more information or to apply for a grant, see the Kansas Department of Commerce website at KansasCommerce.gov.
