Athlete, animal lover are students of month

Senior Amy Kersten, who likes working with horses and may become a veterinarian, and sophomore Dillon Boldt, who’s a four-sport athlete, are March students of the month at Hillsboro High School.

Both have been active in student council. Amy is a member of Zion Lutheran Church’s youth fellowship. Dillon is a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Amy, daughter of the late Tim Kersten, works with Daryl Kliewer’s horses and enjoys crochet, sketching, and watching NetFlix. Her guardians are Jon and Jill Meier.

After high school, she may become a pre-veterinary major but wants to explore her options, saying she’s not really sure what she wants to do but is open to learning new skills.

Dillon, son of Dennis and Tracy Boldt, is part of the football, basketball, track and swimming team and a member of H Club.

His hobbies include music, art and TV, and his future plans are undecided.
