Calvin Everett Seadeek, 70, of Council Grove died Feb. 27 at his residence.

He was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Holland, N.Y., to Everett and June (Wheeler) Seadeek. He married Linda Kay Smith on Aug. 22, 1970, in Winter Park, Fla.

He worked as a loan officer in Florida for several years before moving to New York. There he worked as a modular home salesman and later as a bus driver.

In 1993, he moved his family to Marion, where they became members of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He was a custodian and bus driver for USD 408 until he retired in early 2008. He moved to Council Grove in November 2010 to be closer to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; two sons, Calvin E. Seadeek Jr. of Council Grove and Michael T. Seadeek of Wilsey; five grandchildren; and a sister, Pat Owens of Chipley, Fla.

A memorial service was scheduled for Tuesday at First Baptist Church.

A memorial fund has been established for the First Baptist Church Deacon Fund.
