The Hillsboro band and vocal music departments will have their Christmas concerts next week.

The Hillsboro Middle School Christmas concert will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the auditorium. The sixth-grade choir and band will perform, as well as the seventh- and eighth-grade band and choir.

The Hillsboro High School Christmas Concert will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 in the auditorium. The band, Concert Choir, and Spirit-N-Celebration will perform.

7 singers honored

Seven HHS choral students performed in the Kansas Music Educators Association South Central District Honor Choir on Saturday.

Students were chosen via live auditions in early November. Hannah Bostic and Vance Klassen were in the Mixed Chorus. Claire Heyen, Abigail Kliewer, Jazmene May, Daniele Melton, and Molly Wiebe performed in the Women’s Chorus.

1 in honor band

Sophomore Allison Gray performed in the KMEA South Central District Honor Band Saturday in Maize. She was selected to perform after auditions in November.

She and other students across the state will audition in January in Salina for the state honor band. She plays French horn.
