Darla Gore

Darla A. Gore, 52, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born May 6, 1964, to Garry Vogel and Georgie Helmer Vogel at Marion, Kansas.

She was a graduate of Marion High School with the class of 1982 and received a Bachelor’s degree from DeVry University.

She worked as an accounts payable manager for Waitt Brands, and she previously had worked for Western Associates for 25 years.

On April 14, 1984, she married Jeff Gore. They were blessed with one daughter, Darla Jo.

She spent many years serving on the Chingawassa Days committee and also helped with the annual hunt for handicapped hunters.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgie Vogel.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Jeff Gore of Marion; daughter, Darla Jo Gore and fiancé Jared Craighead of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Jamie McDonald and husband James of Wichita; her father, Garry Vogel and wife Marcia of Marion; a niece, Kendra (Nicely) Kirkpatrick and husband DJ; nephews Ridge McDonald and Dylan McDonald; step-sister Gail Boaldin and husband Rick of Marion; step-brother Ryan Walker and wife Darci of McPherson; brothers-in-law George Gore and wife Sonya of Durham and Glen Eickelberry and wife Shannon of Palco; and their families.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at Marion Christian Church with the Rev. Carl Helm presiding. Interment will follow in Marion Cemetery.
