NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Davis family meets for supper

Roy and Nadine Davis and Tim Davis went to the home of Gary and Crystal Davis in Hillsboro Saturday for supper. Leland and Niedree Davis from Texas also attended. Niedree came early to help in the Davis home and get acquainted with the new grandson Rylan, who was born July 22 to Gary and Crystal. Leland and Niedree returned home on Sunday.

Having Sunday dinner in the home of Richard and Charlotte Wiebe were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Loretta Wiebe, Sandy Wiebe, and Teresa Wiebe.

Wendell and Linda Wedel spent Tuesday through Thursday in Kansas City with the Travis and Connie Becker family. Their grandson Garret Becker had surgery on Wednesday.

Those of the Dayton Unruh family that attended a family picnic Saturday in the Great Bend park were Larry Koehn and family, Warren Unruh and family, Quinton Unruh and family, and Starla Harms and family.

Enjoying Sunday dinner in the home of Arlyn and Kalynda Wiebe were Mark and Kris Wiebe and Luke, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and family, and Danielle and Trevin Koehn.

USD 410 began classes on Aug. 18 and the Cottonwood Grove Christian School had their first day on Aug. 17. Teachers at Cottonwood Grove are Tim Koehn, Katlyn Unruh, Tonja Wiebe, and Katie Schmidt. On Thursday evening, the parents hosted a welcome for the teachers with homemade ice cream.

The Clayton Wiebe family enjoyed a pizza supper at their parents’ home Friday evening.

Titus and Chelsea Koehn welcomed a son, Kingston James, on Aug. 15 at the Salina Hospital. Larry and Wanda Koehn are grandparents.

Wendell and Linda Wedel went to Moundridge Manor to eat dinner and visit with her Mother.

Going to the park in McPherson Sunday for a family picnic to celebrate July and August birthdays were Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Mike and Mich Rhodes and family.

A large crowd attended an annual hamburger fry in the park.
