WEDDING:   Deines, Hajek

Jessica Lynn Deines, 23, and Andrew John Hajek, 25, both of Tampa, married at 4 p.m. Sept. 1 in a double ring ceremony at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington with Alan Stahlecker officiating.

Jeff and Gayla Deines of Ramona are parents of the bride, and John and Carla Hajek of Tampa are parents of the groom. Mervin and Leona Deines of Ramona are grandparents of the bride. Lowell Barten of Hope is the grandfather of the groom.

Cousin of the bride Makenzie Deines of Ramona and cousin of the groom Nichole Taylor of Abilene were acolytes for the ceremony. Lynley Remy of Burdick was the organist, and Kenny Roe of Herington played trumpet. Terry Deines of Ramona and Rachel Riedy of Topeka sang “Keeper of the Stars” during the unity candle lighting.

The bride’s dress was a fitted A-line Allure Bridal gown of soft organza. The neckline was a customized sweetheart adorned with beadwork and crystals. The gown had an organza skirt and ruching throughout the bodice which featured embroidery, crystals, and organza criss-crosses.

The bride’s flowers were designed by Tamara Christiansen of Durham. It was a diamond hand-tied bouquet of orange spider Gerber daisies, lavender pixies, purple veronica and deep purple calla lilies with mixed greens.

Sister of the bride Shelby Deines of Abilene was the maid of honor. Cousin of the bride Megan Suffield of Marion, cousin of the bride Samantha Coup of Lawrence, sister of the groom Amy Hajek of Tampa, and friend of the bride Julie Smith of Rolla, Mo., were bridesmaids.

Brother of the groom Alex Hajek was the best man. Brother of the bride Justin Deines of Ramona and friends of the groom Thomas Elliott of Columbus, Mo., Tyler Richmond of Marion, and Kyle Pope of Pittsburg were groomsmen.

Cousin of the bride Haley Suffield of Marion and cousin of the groom Karley Hillyer of Overland Park were flower girls. Friend of the couple Samuel Rziha of Tampa and cousin of the bride Joshua Deines of Sterling, Colo., were ring-bearers. Friends of the couple David Rziha of Tampa and Ryan Hummel of Abilene, friend of the groom Andrew Willhaus of Manhattan, and cousin of the groom Bryant Gutsch of Lincolnville were ushers.

A reception at the Herington Community Building followed the ceremony. The meal was catered by Marissa Makovec of Ramona.

Guest book greeters were Sarah Mincher of Overland Park and Marissa Rose of Hutchinson. Cake helpers at the reception were Alisha Barney, Leann Pankratz, Chelsey Tajchman, and Nichole Rowley.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Centre High School and a 2008 graduate of the American Academy of Cosmetology in Manhattan. She works in the Marion County Appraiser’s Office.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Centre High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in agricultural economics. He is a farmer and Pioneer Seeds salesperson.

The couple had a honeymoon in Hawaii. They live outside of Tampa.
