Donna Mae Southers

Donna Mae Southers, 74, Lost Springs, died May 2 at The Legacy in Herington.

Born Sept. 20, 1942, to Eddie and Dorothy (Cornelius) Bumguard at Tomba, Wisconsin, she graduated from West High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 1961. She attended vocational school and served in the Army for one year.

She married Clayton Southers on Oct. 16, 1962, at Dillon, South Carolina. The couple moved to Lost Springs in 1981.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton, of the home; son, James Southers of Herington; daughters, Dottie Gehrke of Burns, Oregon, and Melanie Jackson of Lincolnville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was Monday at Lost Springs Cemetery.

Memorials are requested for the Alzheimer’s Association.
