Eight members of Our Savior Lutheran Dorcas Society met Nov. 5 for their monthly meeting and discussed preparations for the Thanksgiving potluck meal on Nov. 23.

The potluck will be after the 10:30 a.m. joint worship service in Marion with Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro. The Marion church will provide meat, beverages, and table service. Members of both congregations will bring a variety of other foods.

President Irma Meisinger called the meeting to order. Thanksgiving plans were shared in answer to roll call and Jane Gooding quizzed those attending on Thanksgiving trivia. Ruth Lange gave a report on the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Fall Rally that she attended. At the close of the meeting the Birthday Prayer was said in honor of members’ birthdays in November.

Refreshments of apple dump cake and fall-themed candy were provided by Lois Johnson.
