Doris E. Ewert, 98, died Thursday at Marion Assisted Living Center.

She was born Jan. 4, 1918, to Glenn and Lucy (Pierce) Kline in Marion. She was a 1936 graduate of Marion High School.

On August 10, 1941, she married Harold L. Ewert.

She was a bookkeeper at Seymour Packing Plant and also for Standard Oil Company. She was an active member of the Eastmoor United Methodist Church. She went on mission trips to Texas for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Wayne; sister, Bernice Burkdoll; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

She is survived by children Max Ewert, Donna Hajek, and Gary Ewert, all of Marion, and Gene Ewert of Neodesha; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. June 5 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

Memorial funds have been established for Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Good Shepherd Hospice, Marion City Library, and Marion Assisted Living.
