Edward W. Svitak, 95, died Nov. 18, 2012, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. He was born Nov. 2, 1917 at Pilsen to Rudolph and Josephine Vinduska Svitak.

He was a lifelong resident of Pilsen, where he farmed and operated a trucking business.

He married Ida Rudolph on June 10, 1940, at Florence. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2009.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Ekter of Portland, Ore., and Mary Ann Conyers of Marion; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pilsen Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion.

A memorial has been established with the Father Kapaun Fund, in care of the funeral home.
