Feb. 14

2:16 a.m. — A man in his 80s who fell at Bethesda Homes and was complaining of knee and hip pain was transported by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

Feb. 15

6:24 p.m. — A grass fire was reported at 140th and Jade Rd., with no reported controlled burns in the area. As Hillsboro fire was en route, a dispatcher transmitted an update that there was a possible controlled burn at 140th and Kanza Rds. Hillsboro firefighters discovered no fire at 140th and Jade Rds., confirmed the controlled burn, and returned to the station.

9:06 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to the 300 block of S. Ash St. to wash away blood in the street from a dog that was hit, presumably by a vehicle.

THURSDAY

1:19 a.m. — Hillsboro fire responded to a fire alarm at apartments at Adams and B Sts. Upon arriving at the scene, a firefighter reported a “strong smell of wax” coming from a bathroom, and the fire was extinguished within 2 minutes. At 1:45 a.m., firefighters requested law enforcement respond, followed by a request for a state fire marshal inspector. A firefighter and a police officer reported being clear of the scene at around 4 a.m.

2:14 a.m. — Flames coming from the roof of a house at 311 Eisenhower St. in Hillsboro drew a response from Hillsboro and Marion fire departments and Hillsboro ambulance. At 2:37 a.m., firefighters reported fire on the roof had been extinguished, and reported the remainder of the fire out at 2:53 a.m. Hillsboro firefighters remained on scene until almost 5 a.m.

8:06 p.m. — Peabody ambulance reported as en route to Marion for an unspecified reason.

8:55 p.m. — A person having heart pains in the 400 block of Walnut St. was transported by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical. A later recording had Peabody ambulance reporting themselves as arrived at Via Christi — St. Francis.

FRIDAY

12:08 p.m. — An elderly man who had passed out but was conscious at the time of the call was transported by Marion ambulance to HCH.

3:23 p.m. — Hillsboro fire responded to a controlled burn that had gotten out of control on Holly Rd. between 180th and 190th Rds.

SATURDAY

2:06 a.m. — A man with a high fever and other problems was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from Parkside Homes to HCH.

7:20 a.m. — A person who had a possible stroke at September Apartments was transported by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

1:42 p.m. — A controlled burn was reported as having gotten out of control on Falcon Rd. between 150th and 160th Rds. Hillsboro fire responded.

3:44 p.m. — An elderly female feeling like she was going to pass out was transported by Marion ambulance from Victory Lane to St. Luke.

SUNDAY

3:16 a.m. — An elderly patient who had fallen at Westview Manor and was complaining of high blood pressure and dizziness was transported to Newton Medical by Peabody ambulance.

12:07 p.m. — A person burning a pile of branches along US-77 between 270th and 280th Rds. reported that the burn had gotten out of control. Lincolnville fire responded.

6:25 p.m. — A fire alarm going off in the 400 block of E. Main St. was reported by Goessel fire as a false alarm.

6:44 p.m. — A man having chest pains and a bad headache in the 1500 block of E. Lawrence St. was transported by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

8:52 p.m. — Marion ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transfer from St. Luke to Newton Medical.

9:30 p.m. — A woman with severe pains on Nighthawk Rd. between 150th and 160th Rds. was transported by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical.
