NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Fall Poem Fest held Nov. 4

The annual Fall Poem Fest was held Nov. 4 at a shed on the Ransom Wiebe farm. Cottonwood Grove School students presented poems they had memorized to family and friends. Fall decorations created a cozy atmosphere.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe held a fundraiser supper for the school on Nov. 6. Guests were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Dale and Kathy Jantz, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Katie Unruh, Katie Schmidt, Rebecca Peachy, Kayla Wiebe, Tonja Wiebe, ShayLynn Koehn, Brooke Wiebe, Jaron Wiebe, and Danielle Koehn.

The Duerksen family held a Thanksgiving gathering Nov. 9 at the Goessel Community Building. Attending from Durham were Ron and Dora Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh, and Josh and Katelin Hendricks. The Marvin and Rosalie Duerksen family served as host.

Dinner guests at the home of Terry and Robyn Schultz on Nov. 9 were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Sandy Wiebe, Larry and Wanda Koehn, Chet and Melissa Boehs and family, and Chet’s mother, Ruth Boehs of Georgia.

Mark and Kris Wiebe held a ticket supper named Sausage on the Grill on Nov. 7. Guests were Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Louise Ratzlaff, Rayletta Ratzlaff, Kayla Wiebe, Rebecca Peachy, Calla Wengar, and Brooke Wiebe.
