Gerald Shirley

Services for Marion native Gerald Carter Shirley, 76, of Marshfield, Missouri, who died May 12, will be at 1 p.m. June 3 at Foundation Church of Marshfield.

Born Nov. 1, 1941, to Mary Logan Stokes and Silas Weidenbener in Marion, he married Bunita Shirley of Sacramento, California, on Nov. 18, 1988.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; daughters, Bunita Shirley and Ciara Shirley; sons, John Shirley and Donald Shirley; and six grandchildren.

A brother, Thomas Shirley, and a grandson preceded him in death.

Shirley was a manufacturer, businessman, and worked in real estate, auto body repair, and vehicle sales. He was active in outdoor activities, including travel, hunting, fishing, skiing, and parasailing. He was a Freemason and member of Foundation Church.
