GES to present music program

Students from Goessel Elementary School will be in rhythm for a musical program to be presented at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday at the elementary school gymnasium.

The program, titled “A New World: Musical Adventures and Life Lessons,” will feature songs pertaining to themes of helping each other, freedom, wandering, and joy.

The second, third, and fourth grade choirs will present music inspired by other cultures, such as Haiti, India, and China. The kindergarten and first grade group will perform classics like “Yellow Submarine, “You Are My Sunshine,” and “It’s a Small World.”

The fifth grade choir will feature songs from The Muppet Movie and Grease, and other favorites. The fifth graders’ performances will feature some choreography. The fifth grade band will also perform pep songs and tunes from musicals.

The community is invited to attend. Marcia Brubaker and Shelby Unruh direct the choirs, and Scott Taylor directs the band.
