Glen and Mary Lou Unrau, rural Newton, celebrated 60 years of marriage with close friends and family on Aug. 11.

The party, hosted by their children and catered by Big Jim’s Bar-BQ of Newton, was held at the home farm south and east of Goessel.

Glen Unrau and Mary Lou Voth were married June 12, 1952, at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton. They have four children, Lynel and Vickie (Frey) Unrau, De Alan and Alma (Kaufmann) Unrau, Vance and Candy (Juhnke) Unrau, and Lucia Unrau and Peter Terry. They have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Glen has worked as a farmer, schoolteacher, and farm equipment dealer and salesman. Mary Lou continues as the owner/operator of Hairlines in North Newton.
