In a flurry of activity, Goessel board of education approved several items Monday during their May meeting.

A $14,458 contract with Hesston Decorating for new carpet in the band/choir room, office, and practice room, an $8,800 digital textbook contract for high school social studies, and USD 411’s $5,331 portion of Parents as Teachers assessment rounded out the top three expenditures that were approved.

A donation of $2,625 donation from Countryside Feed for the Kansas Food Bank Backpack for Kids program was approved.

A memorandum of understanding with Marion County Sheriff, county attorney, and local law enforcement pledging cooperation for school safety as required by the Kansas School Safety Act was approved.

A bid for an unspecified amount from Internet provider Ideatek also was approved.

Kyle Huxman’s assistant football coach supplemental contract was approved, as was Sherri Sells resignation from her supplemental forensics contract.
