The Goessel Bluebird golf team captured first place at Marion on April 15 with a team score of 401, two strokes ahead of Remington. Although the team knew that it would have to score better in order to be competitive in large meets, the top four players were close in score.
Lucas Hiebert finished with 96, followed closely by Lawton Makovec at 98. Reece Hiebert ended with 102 and Zach Showalter carded a 105. Kellen Froese and Luke Unruh rounded out the team scoring with a 116 and 134 respectively.
Goessel is scheduled to be at Hesston on Thursday.
