Burns resident Herb Strotkamp, 85, died Monday at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

Viewing is today from 1 to 5 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. A memorial service will be Thursday at Holy Family Parish, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Florence, starting with a rosary at 10 a.m. and a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Burns Cemetery.

Strotkamp was born May 26, 1929, to Edward and Lucy (Weber) Strotkamp. He grew up in Burns and graduated from Burns High School in 1947.

He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. Strotkamp worked as a printer over 40 years for several different newspapers, the State of Kansas, and Beech Aircraft.

His parents and a sister, Theresa Elisha, preceded him in death.

A sister, Marcella Gordon of Salina, survives him.

A memorial has been established with Good Sheppard Hospice in care of the funeral home.
