Hillsboro FFA to hold pancake feed Saturday

Area residents can catch a good breakfast courtesy of the Hillsboro FFA at 6 a.m. Saturday morning at the Old Towne Event Center. The FFA will provide all-you-can-eat pancakes with sausage and drink.

The food will be served up until noon, with a suggested donation of $5 being the only price of admission.

Recent accomplishments for the FFA include participation in the job interview and ag communications contest held Feb. 6 in Arkansas City.

At that event, Kyle Unruh and SaRae Roberts participated in the job interview contest, in which entrants prepared cover letters and resumes prior to the event, completed job applications, and interviewed with business persons and wrote a thank-you letter.

Kyle placed third, advancing to the state competition. SaRae finished ninth.

Hannah Bartel, Jordyn Siebert, and Riley Loewen competed in ag communications. Hannah wrote a press release, Jordyn prepared a 60-second video, and Riley designed a poster. The event topic was global food system.

The team placed second overall, with Jordyn placing second individually and Hannah placing seventh overall.
