James Lloyd Schmidt, 88, of Hillsboro died Friday at Newton Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 7, 1926, to Louis and Lodi (Wadel) Schmidt in Greensburg.

A son, Roger Wayne Schmidt, predeceased him.

Survivors include: wife, Gladys Schmidt of Hillsboro; daughters, Phyllis Elaine Van Horn of McPherson, Lois Darlene Bartel of Hillsboro; brother, Irvin Schmidt of South Hutchinson; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Hillsboro M.B. Church in Hillsboro. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery in Cullison.
