KAKE newscaster to speak about ‘Hatteberg’s People’

KAKE evening news anchorman Larry Hatteberg will give a presentation on “Hatteberg’s People” at 9:45 a.m. Friday in Tabor College’s Wohlgemuth Music Education Center as part of the Lifelong Learning series.

He became interested in photography during high school in Winfield, where he became photo editor for the school newspaper and yearbook. He began selling photos to the local newspaper as a junior and senior.

During his years at KAKE, he has held several positions including chief photographer, executive news director, and primetime co-anchorman.

His series, “Hatteberg’s People,” is the longest-running television feature in Kansas. He has received more than 100 local, state, and national awards for news photography and reporting.
