Klaassen receives Presidential Leadership Scholarship

Heidi Klaassen of Arkansas City has been named a 2014 Tabor College Presidential Leadership Scholarship.

The $68,000 scholarship is designed to develop young people into effective and skilled leaders. She will participate in special classes during her four years at Tabor.

Klaassen participated in a selection weekend earlier in November. The weekend included an interview with Tabor president Jules Glanzer, group activities, giving a speech, and constructing an essay.

The program was established in 2011. The first group of scholarship winners will be seniors next year.
