News editor

Concerts and meals are always the high points of Chingawassa Days in Marion, and this year will be no different.

For the first time, Chingawassa will have two concerts with hit musical acts, starting June 7 with contemporary country star Joe Nichols and continuing June 8 with 1990s rock band FireHouse.

The June 7 concert will open with Brooks & Walsh at 7 p.m., followed by Nichols. Silver Bullet will open for FireHouse at 6:45 p.m. June 8, and FireHouse will perform at 9 p.m.

The El Dorado High School drumline will perform at 9:30 a.m. June 8 on Main Street.

There will be no shortage of food for visitors to Chingawassa Days. The feast begins with a barbecue from 5:30 to 7 p.m. June 7 in Central Park. There also will be an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m.

June 8 will begin with a pancake feed from 7 to 10 a.m. and continue with a 2 p.m. watermelon feed. Chingawassa Days will also have a food court with a variety of options.
