The Lillie Rhodes family reunion was held on Oct. 7 at Sugar Creek School near Canton. Attending from northern Marion County were Harry and Sheryl Rhodes, Darrel and Donita Rhodes, and Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family.
Guests for supper on Oct. 7 in the home of Larry and Wanda Koehn were Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Leonard and Dianne Peachy and Tyrel and Diane’s mother Annie Wedel Murray of Kentucky.
Attending the memorial services on Oct. 6 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro for Breatha Goentzel were Lola Redger, Jaraine Redger, and Dora Unruh.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe hosted a farewell for their granddaughter Karalee Wiebe on the evening of Oct. 7. Guests were Mark and Kris Wiebe and family, Sharon Redger, Merlin, and Karletta Wiebe and Janessa, Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family, and Bryan and Rebecca Thomas and family. Karalee left Oct. 12 for Paraguay where she will teach some of the missionary children whose parents are doing mission work there.
Overnight guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on Oct. 7 were Naomi Penner of Fountain Run, Ky. She came for the memorial services for Randall Burch on Oct. 8 in Lindsborg. There were others that came for the services as well as some from here who attended.
Guests of Clayton and Betty Wiebe on Oct. 7 were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Naomi Hiebert of Pares, Texas, Virgil and Delma Wiebe of St. Mary’s, Ontario, Canada, Norman and Pearl Ensz and Vada Ensz of Inman.
A potluck dinner was served Oct. 7 in honor of Matt and Lisa Stauffer of Seattle, Wash., and his parents Russ and Deb Stauffer of Findley, Ohio. Those in attendance were Ron and Dora Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh and Katelin and Sarah, Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle and Jenna, Lon and Deb Hiebert of Peabody and Matt Hiebert of Hesston College, Jim and Brenda Enns, David and Ashley Enns and family of Whitewater, and Darren and Corina Enns of Manhattan. In the early evening, Jim and Brenda hosted a wedding reception for Matt and Lisa at their rural Hillsboro home. This same group attended as well as other relatives and friends. Matt and Lisa returned to Seattle early Monday morning.
Lela Wedel was honored with a family supper hosted by Harry and Sheryl Rhodes at their home on Oct. 5. Guests were Harry and Lela, Warren and Jane Unruh, Darrel and Donita Rhodes, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, Ron and Jenelee Becker and Kelly and Karleen Koehn.
