Bruce and Cheryl Dirks flew to Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 27 and then went to Soldanton where Bruce and Don Fricke of North Dakota conducted meetings for several days. They returned home on Nov. 1. The weather was nice with some snow on the ground and temperatures in the teens and no wind.

On Nov. 1, the Cottonwood Grove Christian School had its annual Poem Fest. The students each memorized a poem, which they presented to the parents and patrons of the school. Singing was also enjoyed. It was held at the shed at the Ransom Wiebe farm. The shed was decorated with fall decorations and everyone was seated on straw bales.

Makenzie Beth Unruh was born Oct. 29 to Mitchell and Carol Unruh at Newton Medical Center. She weighed 9 pounds. She has three older brothers Deryk, Alex, and Zach.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe took dinner to the home of Harry and Lela Wedel on Nov. 4. Joining them were Janessa Wiebe and Calla Wenger. Harry is mostly confined to their home due to an illness.

On Nov. 4, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Ruston and Lydia Dirks and family, Heath and Tannis Dirks, and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami went to eat at a Salina restaurant. They celebrated Bethany’s Nov. 3 birthday.

Guests invited to the home of Clayton and Betty Wiebe on Nov. 4 were Roy and Nadine Davis, Terry and Robin Schultz and family, Jeff and Monica Ratzlaff and family, Josh Koehn, and Tim Davis.

On Oct. 31, Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys had supper in the home of Roy and Nadine Davis.

Invited dinner guests Nov. 4 in the home of Mark and Kris Wiebe were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Mitch and Carol Unruh and family, and Doug and Starla Koehn.

The evening of Nov. 4, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to the Manor in Moundridge to visit Duane Ratzlaff. Louise Ratzlaff also joined them.
