Some folks did some traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and others enjoyed dinners and fellowship with family and friends. It was a very warm day, breaking records. We had the windows open, and it was tempting to have a picnic.

Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and family went to Houston, Texas, for the Thanksgiving weekend, returning home on Nov. 26. They spent the time visiting Titus Koehn, who is doing volunteer work at a hospital there.

Hiram and Rhonda Wedel of Iowa and Larry and Eileen Schmidt of Mississippi spent the Thanksgiving weekend at the home of Roy and Nadine Davis. On Nov. 21, they all attended a potluck supper at the school with other Davis and Wedel families. On Thanksgiving Day, Roy and Nadine hosted a dinner for Hiram and Rhonda, Larry and Eileen, and Rick and Lavae Koehn and family. On Saturday, the Wedels went to western Kansas to visit relatives while Larry and Eileen attended the wedding of Larry’s brother Richard to Heather Unruh at Moundridge. The rest of the Davis family also attended the wedding. Hiram and Rhonda returned home on Nov. 25, and Larry and Eileen returned home the next day.

Ken and Sandy Wiebe hosted a dinner for their family on Thanksgiving Day. Guests were Doyle and Kara Wiebe and family, Arden and Judy Wiebe and family of Texhoma, Texas, and Teresa Wiebe.

LaVern and Lisa Littwiller and family of Murray, Ky., spent Thanksgiving weekend at the home of Bruce and Cheryl Dirks. On Thanksgiving Day, they and Ruston and Lydia Dirks and family, Marlin and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami, and Heath and Tannis Dirks spent the day with Cheryl’s mother, Verna Smith, and her brothers and families. From Nov. 23 to 24, the Dirks family attended a Smith reunion at Crosswind Conference Center near Hesston. Cheryl renewed acquaintances with cousins, some whom she had not seen for 38 years.

Gene and Jaraine Redger hosted a family dinner on Thanksgiving Day at their home in Newton. Larry Wedel and friend Jane were among the guests.

Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys joined the rest of his family on Nov. 25 in Burns for a Thanksgiving dinner.

Larry and Wanda Koehn took dinner to share with Crystal Koehn in Moundridge on Thanksgiving Day. They were joined by Margie Jantz and Lena Koehn of Newton, Howard and Iris Eck of Havilland, and Dennis and Jewel Warkentine of Cartwright, Manitoba.

Ron and Dora Unruh joined others from the Duerksen family at Goessel on Nov. 25. Milt Duerksen and family hosted the gathering.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for their family, including Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and family.

Dinner guests of Greg and Charlene Wedel on Thanksgiving Day were Wendell and Linda Wedel and Travis and Connie Becker and family.

Warren and Jane Unruh hosted a Thanksgiving Day dinner for the Harry and Lela Wedel family at the school.

Mark and Kris Wiebe and family, Jasper and Joni Zeiset, and Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family were dinner guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe on Thanksgiving Day. Ken and Anita Schmidt of Montezuma stopped in for a visit and lunch with the Wiebes on Nov. 24.

Guests of Harry and Sheryl Rhodes on Thanksgiving Day were Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Darren and Meri Kay Rhodes and family, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Terry and Robin Schultz and family.

Thanksgiving Day guests of Ron and Dora Unruh were Jim and Brenda Enns; Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matt; Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah; Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna; David and Ashley Enns and family; Josh Hendricks of Wamego; and Teal Stutzman of Haven.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe hosted a ticket meal as a fundraiser for the school on Nov. 25. Their guests were Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Calla Wengar, Mitch and Carol Unruh and family, Rustin and Lydia Dirks and girls, Tim Davis, and Henry Koehn of Montezuma. Henry is Betty’s brother and was an overnight guest on Nov. 24.
