The family of Wendell and Linda Wedel met in their home Dec. 24 to celebrate Christmas. Present were Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, and Travis and Connie Becker and their boys. The family also celebrated Greg’s birthday. Wendell and Linda ate Christmas dinner with her mother, Naomi Maysekea, at Moundridge Manor.
The family of Vera Dirks met with her Dec. 22 at Bethesda Home in Goessel for a potluck supper. Present were Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Heath and Tannis Dirks, Marlin and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami, Ruston, and Lydia Dirks and family, Brad and Joyce Dirks and girls, Charlene Becker, and Chris and Jody Ratzlaff.
The Harry Wedel family had a basket dinner Dec. 23 at the school.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks hosted Allen and Heather Martin and family from Pennsylvania for several days during the holiday. On Dec. 24, the Dirks family joined Cheryl’s mother, Verna Smith, and other Smith family members at Hutchinson for a Christmas dinner.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe hosted a family supper Dec. 28 for Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, and Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family.
The Ron Unruhs hosted a Duerksen family potluck supper Dec. 30 at the community building in Durham. Guests were Milt Duerksen; Gary and Angie Duerksen, Olivia and Zack; Rudy and Eulalia Schroeder; Marvin and Rosalie Duerksen and Sandy,; Brendon and Susan Nafziger, Brooke and Colby; Jim and Brenda Enns; Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matthew; Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah; and Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna.
Harry and Sheryl Rhodes hosted a family dinner Dec. 24 for Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht and Taylor, and Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family.

The Dale Rhodes family had a dinner Dec. 30 at the school.

Lola Redger and her family had a Christmas Day dinner together.
Seventeen Durham Senior Citizens met for a Christmas dinner and carol sing Dec. 19 at the community center.
Jim and Brenda Enns visited Ron Unruhs Christmas Day evening.
The Ransom Wiebe family had family visitors at different times, as some were leaving for different places. Grandson Randy and Laura Unruh of California were guests on Dec. 19 after the school program, as well as Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and family, Mark and Kris Wiebe, Kayla, Lance, and Luke, Kendall and Susie Wiebe and Abigail, and the Jason Wiebe family. On Dec. 22, Ransom and Lillian hosted family members for supper; guests were Justin and Rebecca Wiebe and family of Iowa; Mark and Kris Wiebe, Kayla, Lance, and Luke; Jasper and Joni Zeiset of Oklahoma; Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, jana, and Jenesa; Kendall and Susie Wiebe and Abigail; and Anthony Wiebe. Beth couldn’t attend because some of the children were sick. Jana from Minnesota and Anthony from Alabama had come for the memorial services for their grandfather Harry Wedel, and they returned home Dec. 23.
There were two memorial services in the community recently. Harry Wedel’s services were Dec. 22. He was a lifelong resident of the community. Services for Jim Donahue were Dec. 22; he was a businessman and farmer in the community.
Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin, and Sarah, met Barb’s brother, Gordon, and Elaine Stutzman of Twin Falls, Idaho, on Dec. 21 in McPherson for supper. Other guests were Chad and Hilary Stutzman and family of Hutchinson. Gordon and Elaine were visiting their son and family over the holidays.
Larry and Eileen Schmidt of Mississippi visited her parents, Roy and Nadine Davis, on Dec. 24. On Dec. 25, Rick and LaVae Koehn and family were additional dinner guests in the Davis home. The Schmidts returned home Dec. 29.
Ron Unruh and family had a dinner Dec. 23. Guests were Jim and Brenda Enns, Lon and Deb Hiebert and Mathew, Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin, and Sarah, Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna, David and Ashley Enns and family, Darren and Corina Enns, and Josh Hendricks.
Mark and Kris Wiebe, Kayla, Lance, and Luke left Dec. 23 for Buhl, Idaho, to spend time with family during the holidays.
Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family left Dec. 21 for Rosenort, Manitoba, Canada, to spend some time with Sheri’s parents and family.
Guests of dinner Dec. 25 in the home of Richard and Charlotte Wiebe were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Ron and Deloris Koehn, Jarold and Rhonda Koehn, Danielle, and Trevon, and Arlyn and Kalynda Wiebe.
House guests in the home of Larry and Wanda Koehn the week of Dec. 23 were Amy Koehn of Brooksville, Miss., and Christopher and Denise Schrock and Kai of Kidron, Ohio. Dinner guests on Dec. 23 were the house guests and Leonard and Dianne Peachy and Tyrel and Leonard’s parents, Sam and Hettie Peachy of Murray, Ky. The Peachys, who had been house guests of Leonard and Dianne the week of Dec. 19, left for Murray to spend Christmas there.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe went to Fountain Run, Ky., on Dec. 22 to spend until Dec. 26 with Loretta Wiebe. Travis and Sharon Koehn and family also went to Kentucky with some of Loretta’s household things, and all had dinner together Dec. 23. The Koehns returned home Dec. 24.
