The school children and teachers of Cottonwood Grove Christian School hosted a supper April 4 at the school. The theme was the “Old Diner” of the 50s. The children took orders and served about 65 people. It was a learning experience of meeting patrons, making correct change, and serving with a friendly smile.
Wendell and Linda Wedel spent the Easter weekend in California. They left on March 26 to spend time with their daughter and family, Maria and Newt Jantz and Gavin. On March 30, they spent the day with Linda’s sister, Janet and David Giesbrecht at Princeton. That evening they had supper with a friend in Chico who runs a restaurant there. While there, they celebrated their grandson’s sixth birthday.
Mark and Kris Wiebe hosted a ticket supper of pizza and Pepsi April 3 to benefit the school. Guests were Marlin and Bethany Wiebe and Jessami, Doug and Starla Koehn, Bryan and Rebecca Thomas and family, and Aryin and Kalynda Wiebe.
Tim Davis and Josh Koehn were April 4 dinner guests of Clayton and Betty Wiebe.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe and Ken and Sandy Wiebe visited Vera Dirks on April 5 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
Dinner guests of Roy and Nadine Davis on April 7 were Lyndon and Denise Unruh and son, her sister Eunice Wengar of Greensburg, Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys, and Wendell and Linda Wedel.
A group of 12 senior couples from Morning Star Church had a potluck supper April 7 at the school.
Ron and Dora Unruh and Mark and Barb Unruh joined other Duerksen family members April 7 for a belated Easter potluck supper in Goessel. Hosts were Marvin and Rosalie Duerksen, Sandy, and Brendon, and Susan Nafziger and family.
Several members of the Ron and Dora Unruh family gathered at the farm April 6 to clean and spruce it up. They were Jim and Brenda Enns, Lon Hiebert and Mathew, Mark and Barb Unruh and Sarah, and Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna. Ron and Dora visited Deb Hiebert on April 8 at Newton Medical Center.
