HILLSBORO

Burglary, theft

Larry L. Cole, 84, Hillsboro, reported May 3 that a black Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun and a briefcase, together valued at $380, were stolen between 8 a.m. April 13 and 8 a.m. April 27 from his unlocked pickup truck while it was parked at his place of work, AahsSpas, in the 400 block of N. Main St.

MARION

Criminal threat

Five City of Marion employees, including a police officer and a code enforcement officer, were threatened during a municipal court session from 3 and 4 p.m. March 29 in Marion’s city building, according to an offense report released Thursday but dated April 4.

Formal charges were filed May 2, and Kevin W. Geren, 61, Marion, was arrested May 3 at his residence on those charges. He was jailed for less than an hour before being released after posting a $5,000 bond.
