ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

May 27 — Police met with a resident about a traffic complaint.

May 28 — Police helped locate a child who had wandered from his residence. A driver was warned for making a J-turn in the 100 block of N. Main St. Police concluded no crime had been committed after investigating a report of a family dispute in the 900 block of E. D St. A disconnected 911 call from Memorial Park was attributed to accidental dialing. Police investigated a report of speeding in the 600 block of S. Ash St.

May 29 — Police helped free a turtle stuck in a fence at Memorial Park’s pond. A driver was warned for hauling people in the back of a pickup truck in the 100 block of S. Ash St. Police answered questions about a driver’s license and tinted car windows and met with residents about unauthorized entry into a garage in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. and a driving complaint in the 300 block of N. Birch St.

Thursday — An armadillo was reported in a resident’s yard.

Friday — Police participated in camp presentations at Hillsboro Middle School.

Saturday — Trespassing was reported in the 200 block of W. Grand Ave. Police spoke to kids driving an ATV in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St. and found no crime in investigating a report of a family dispute in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St.

Sunday — A dog owner was cited for failing to register and vaccinate a dog after it bit someone in the 300 block of N. Washington St. A Marion resident asked whether a missing dog might have wandered to Hillsboro. An alarm at Dollar General accidentally was activated. Police talked to residents about a child custody matter and a missing bicycle.

MARION

May 29 — Police took a complaint about parking in the 300 block of E. Main St.

Thursday — Drivers were warned about an equipment violation at US-56 and Timber Rd. and cited for speeding in the 800 block of N. Cedar St. and at US-56 and Cedar St.

Friday — A resident reported an possible criminal crime, the nature of which was not released by police.

Sunday — Criminal damage to property in Central Park was investigated. No report has yet been released.
