ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

June 24 — A driver was ticketed for speeding in the 800 block of S. Ash St. Another driver was warned for speeding at Ash St. at US-56. A dog loose in the 200 block of N. Main St. was returned to its home. Another dog loose near the high school was picked up by its owner. A resident turned in found property. Police met with business managers about a terminated employee.

June 25 — A license plate was reported lost or stolen. Noise reported in the basement of a house in the 800 block of W. Grand Ave. proved to be caused by a shelf that fell. A driver was warned for speeding at Adams St. and US-56. Police helped with a mental health situation in the 200 block of N. Main St.

June 26 — Two citations were issued for dogs loose in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. The dogs were returned to their owner.

Thursday — A turtle was relocated from a parking lot at Sonic Drive-In to the city pond. An out-of-state resident reported harassment via social media, but police determined it was not a case they could pursue. A driver was warned about exhibiting speed on Memorial Park Dr.

Friday — Police talked to a juvenile about a trespassing notice.

Saturday — Drugs were discovered on two people while serving arrest warrants for one of them. Several speeding vehicles reported in residential neighborhoods were not found. A driver was warned for improperly displaying a license plate at US-56 and Orchard Dr.

Sunday — A noise complaint in the 300 block of S. Washington St. was deemed unfounded. A complaint about fireworks turned out to be a scheduled display at Hillsboro United Methodist Church. A juvenile was taken into protective custody.

ARION

June 24 — Police discussed a unspecified complaint about a child and checked on the welfare a children that, according to monitored transmissions, were left in a car at Dollar General.

June 25 — No problems were found in checking on a vehicle reported to be suspicious.

June 26 — A resident complained about stalking; no offense report was released. A driver was warned about an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.

Thursday — A business owner discussed a trespassing issue. Drivers were ticketed for speeding in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St., warned for an unspecified moving violation at Main and Freeborn Sts., and warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. An unspecified complaint in the 300 block of Locust St. remains under investigation.

Friday — Two drivers at Main and 1st Sts. were ticketed for unspecified moving violations and one for having no motorcycle license endorsement.
