ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

April 21 — A dog reported to be in a roadway and a suspicious person reported to be in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. were not found.

April 22 — The owner of a dog that bit a pedestrian was ticketed. A driver was warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. Police helped arrange for a resident to travel to Newton, stood by during a civil matter in the 300 block of S. Ash St., conducted a background check on a person seeking a food vendor permit, and delivered a message to a resident for Wichita police.

April 23 — A traffic stop led to two arrests on suspicion of drug charges. Drivers were warned for blocking the road in the 100 block of N. Main St. and for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. A speeder reported on Main St. was not found, nor was a dog reported to be loose in the 100 block of S. Main St.

Thursday — A theft investigation and a traffic stop resulted in an arrest on drug charges. No one was home when police tried to check on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of W. Grand Ave.

Friday — A barking dog was reported in the 100 block of S. Ash St. Police helped with an investigation by the Department of Children and Families.

Saturday — An out-of-town parent’s message was delivered to a child. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 100 block of N. Lincoln St.

Sunday — A report of a non-injury accident in the 600 block of S. Main St. is not yet complete.

MARION

April 21 — A resident complained of trespassing in the 300 block of N. 3rd St. A driver was ticketed for having no liability insurance and warned for speeding on US-56 near Industrial St. Other drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 near Timber Rd., Industrial St., and Cedar St. and for having a defective license plate light near 3rd and Williams Sts.

April 22 — Police helped with an out-of-control juvenile at Marion County Special Education Cooperative and talked to a resident about a civil issue. A driver on US-56 was warned for speeding near Timber Rd.

April 23 — Police helped test a suspected impaired driver for Hillsboro police. No problems were found in checking on a disturbance in the 1000 block of E. Main St. A driver was ticketed for having no liability insurance and a defective headlight near Main and Roosevelt Sts.

Thursday — An alarm in the 1000 block of Industrial St. was found to have been accidentally activated.

Friday — Police gave a possibly intoxicated pedestrian a ride from near 1st and Main Sts. to Country Inn motel. Marion’s drug dog, Blue, was used at a traffic stop and drug arrest near 190th and Jade Rds., just outside Hillsboro. A false alarm in the 1000 block of Industrial St. was investigated.

Saturday — Police investigated a parking complaint in the 100 block of Walnut St. A driver was warned for having a defective taillight on US-56 near Industrial St.

Sunday — Drug dog Blue again was deployed, and advanced techniques for testing for driver impairment were used at a traffic stop by a sheriff’s deputy near the US-56/77/K-150 roundabout. A limb fell on a power line in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. A driver was warned for having a defective taillight on US-56 near Timber Rd.
