July 21: Police responded to a dog complaint and two disturbance reports.
July 22: Police took reports of a reckless driver, a vendor selling door-to-door without a permit, and a disturbance in which the subject was upset over the death of his dog.
July 23: Officers took a littering complaint and a dog complaint.
July 24: Police responded to reports of an attempted e-mail scam, a suicidal resident, and a dog complaint.
July 25: Police took reports of door-to-door sales without a permit, suspicious activity, suspicious items found in a residence on North Cedar Street, a traffic complaint, and a harassment complaint.
July 26: There was a noise complaint and a property dispute. Police also took a report of a subject wanted on outstanding warrants.
July 27: Officers returned found property and took a noise complaint when the subject reported the demo derby was too loud.
July 28: Officers responded to a report of an unstable missing person. Officers searched the area and found the person’s clothing. The person was later found at Hillsboro Heights inside a business and transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital for mental health services.
July 29: Police took a disturbance complaint, a report of a tree and power line down, and a report of juveniles playing in floodwaters at the golf course.
July 30: Police checked on suspicious activity, responded to a report of cattle loose in town, and use of a stolen credit card.
July 31: There was a dog complaint.
Aug. 1: Officers responded to several dog complaints, a parking complaint, a neighbor dispute, suspicious activity, trespassing, and a commercial alarm.
Aug. 2: Police assisted with storm damage from severe weather, responded to reports of a suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, suspicious activity, and a civil property dispute.
Aug. 3: Officers returned property in a civil dispute.

July 22: Police conducted a downtown foot patrol, took a dog complaint, made traffic stops, gave warnings for driving golf carts and electric scooters on the street and children walking on railroad tracks, and made a welfare check.
July 23: Police conducted routine patrol and downtown foot patrol, conducted a civil standby, took dog complaints, addressed a complaint with a concerned citizen, took reports of suspicious activity, made traffic stops, gave a warning for driving an electric scooter on the street, investigated a suspicious vehicle, and took a report of criminal damage to property.
July 24: Police served an arrest warrant, followed up on a 911 disconnect (the caller was OK), took dog complaints and issued a letter for a prohibited dog breed, made a traffic stop, fingerprinted a substitute teacher, conducted foot patrols, and checked on a man with dementia.
July 25: Police served an arrest warrant, made traffic stops, assisted with a search warrant, investigated a complaint of battery of a juvenile and arrested Michele Dillashaw and Kendall Hein on drug charges, and placed two children in protective custody.
July 26: Police took dog complaints, made traffic stops, took a noise complaint, and investigated a gas skip.
July 27: Police investigated reports of a suspicious person, took a noise complaint, and received a report of a verbal dispute.
July 29: Police checked a 911 disconnect (the person was OK), took a report of a hit-and-run accident but couldn’t locate the suspected vehicle, impounded a dog for biting a child, found a verbal dispute, and gave warnings for high speed on Main Street.
July 30: Police patrolled the city and watched for flooding, provided traffic control, served a notice to appear related to a dog bite the day before, investigated criminal damage to property and found enough evidence to pursue charges, and warned a driver for not using headlights after dark.
July 31: Police responded to an unattended death, patrolled the city, took a vandalism report, took dog complaints, made a traffic stop, and checked on a person’s welfare.
Aug. 1: Police patrolled the city, investigated a gas skip, gave a warning for inattentive driving, and made traffic stops.
Aug. 2: Police made traffic stops, responded to a non-injury accident, looked for a lost wallet, gave a warning for a brake light out, and helped city crews with downed tree limbs.
Aug. 3: Police patrolled the city and remove branches from streets, made traffic stops, took dog complaints, investigated an ATV in the street, assisted with a child custody issue, and responded to a landlord-tenant dispute.
Aug. 4: Police responded to a verbal dispute and a domestic disturbance.

July 29: Police took a report of possible theft that turned out to be a civil matter.
July 30: A report of a harassing phone call turned out to be a collection agency trying to collect a debt. Officers took a report of another theft that also turned out to be a civil issue.
July 31: A missing child was found and returned to the child’s parent.
Aug. 1: A report of criminal damage to property turned out to be a dispute between a parent and a child. Officers took a report of a civil dispute. They later responded to a report of an incident at 707 N. Elm St. with multiple victims and multiple suspects. Charges will be forthcoming. Police responded to a report of the unattended death of Frank Bowen, who died of natural causes.
Aug. 2: Police took a report about a dispute between a parent and a child. Officers recovered some property.
Aug. 4: Police arrested Regina Miller at 708 N. Poplar Street on a charge of domestic battery. She was taken to Marion County Jail.
