Robert “Bob” Winter

Robert C. “Bob” Winter, 57, passed away September 13, 2015, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. 

He was born Oct. 10, 1957, at Marion, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Alberta (Hoerner) Winter.  He attended Centre Schools, graduating from Centre High School in 1975. 

He farmed near Lincolnville, and had worked for Johns Manville in McPherson, for the past 15 years. 

On April 2, 1994, he was united in marriage to Vicki Appleby.  They have resided in Salina since 2008. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Tammy (Bell) Stark; in-laws, Leslie and Joyce Appleby; and sister-in-law, Linda Maroney. 

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Vicki Winter of Salina; children, Morgan Jones of Salina; and Micah Jones of Wichita; three grandchildren:  Kaylee, Emma and Olivia; seven siblings:  Darlene Czarnowsky of Newton; Mary Bell (Rick) of Newton; Pauline Bailey (John) of Overland Park; Roberta Stuchlik (Mark) of Edmond, Oklahoma; Janet Roesti (Mike) of McPherson; Ron Winter (Terri) of Hillsboro; and Michelle Flaming (Merle) of Lehigh; mother-in-law, Louise Appleby of Salina; and brothers-in-law, Bryan Appleby of Boulder, Colorado; and Steve Thyfault of Utah. 

Visitation with family will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion.  Interment will follow in the Lincolnville Cemetery.  The family encourages casual dress. 

Memorial Funds have been established for Special Olympics Kansas or American Cancer Society, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS 66861.
