Running in the rain

Tabor senior soccer players Rafael Marins and Aram Najar were out running on the stadium track last Friday despite the rain.

Marins plays defense and Najar is an infielder.

“We ran about 2 miles in 16 minutes,” Marins said.

Both wanted to prepare for the first official day of practice, Najar said. They did not want to wait for the indoor training facilities to open, so they decided run anyway.

“We have to play in it, so why not run in it?” Marins said.

Marins is from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and Najar is from Perris, Calif., he was a team captain last year.

Both are looking forward to Aug. 21 — the first game of the season against Independence Community College.
