Samuel Jewett

Samuel L. Jewett, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away Dec. 17, 2017.

Born March 4, 1936, in Marion, Kansas, to Samuel and Carrie (Swelah) Jewett, he was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 35 in Hiawatha, Kansas, and a past Boy Scout leader.

Samuel was a “jack of all trades” who enjoyed ceramics, woodcarving, square dancing and many crafts. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Family members include his son, Jeff Jewett, and Jeff’s wife, Amy, and grandchildren Ian and Kyra, all of Lincoln; siblings Jessie Elliott of Madison, Tennessee; Edith Darting of Hillsboro; and Danny Jewett of Lake of the Hills, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin siblings, John and James.

A memorial service was Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Christ United Methodist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Richard Randolph, Ph.D., officiating.
