The Hillsboro High School boys’ track and field team placed fifth at the Conrad Nightengale Invitational on Friday in Halstead.
Shaq Thiessen won the high jump at 6-3 and long jump at 22-3. Avery Franz was third in long jump, 19-5½ and third in triple jump, 40-1½. Tyler Proffitt placed second in pole vault at 12-06.
Josh Richert won the 800-meter run in 2:07.33, placed third in the 1,600-meters at 4:55.16, and placed fourth in the 3,200-meters at 10:40.96. Grant Knoll placed fifth in the 3,200 with a time of 11:05.05.
Franz placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.08 seconds.
Girls
Emily Sechrist led the girls in scoring, winning the 3,200-meters with a time of 12:03.08, the 1,600, 5:28.15, and the 800, 2:29.79.
Ashley Bartel won pole vault with a vault of 8-6; Marah Franz tied for sixth at 8-0.
Morganne Hamm placed fourth in discus with a throw of 100-11.
Heather Mayfield was fourth in high jump with a jump of 4-8.
