The Tabor College volleyball team started the season by going 3-1 in the Northwestern College tournament Friday and Saturday in Orange City, Iowa. The Bluejays defeated Northwestern College, ranked 23rd in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
They also defeated Morningside College and Dordt College. The team’s lone loss was to Hastings College in a match that went to five sets.

The Bluejays have some time off before facing Southwestern College at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at home.
Soccer teams defeat community colleges
The men’s soccer team defeated Independence Community College 4-0 Aug. 21 at home and Pratt Community College 1-0 Saturday in Pratt. They lost to MidAmerica Nazarene University 1-0 Tuesday at home.
The women’s team opened the season by defeating Independence 1-0 and Pratt 5-0 before losing to MidAmerica Nazarene University 4-0 Tuesday.

Football
The Bluejays football team, ranked 17th in the NAIA coaches’ preseason poll, will start its season at 1 p.m. Sept. 7 in Lincoln, Neb., against Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Cross-country
Men’s and women’s cross-country teams begin the season Sept. 7 at the JK Gold Classic in Augusta.
