There was a good turnout for farmers market the evening of Aug. 15 in Tampa. Proceeds from the meal will benefit Trail Stop, the community- owned grocery and convenience store coming to Main Street.

David Mueller announced that stock sold in the not-for-profit corporation was in excess of the goal. Thrivent is matching some of the funds from the benefit. One of the new welcome to Tampa signs was on display.

Dale Clemmer and Cassie Clemmer of Salina were visitors of Mary and Ron Clemmer Aug. 14 and 15. They worked on Jim’s Salon, the beauty shop Cassie plans to open on Main Street.

Lisa Hanschu had supper and visited with her parents, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, the evening of Aug. 14.

Lucille Kerbs had outpatient knee surgery Aug. 20. Visitors during her recovery at home were Tim Kerbs of Salina, Connie Thompson, and Allison Sluder and Brooklyn of Abilene, Pastor Clark Davis, Adeline Bernhardt and Russell Kerbs. She also received gifts of food, phone calls, and cards.

Father Aaron Vinduska spent a week with his parents, Don and Jeannie Vinduska of Pilsen. He officiated at a celebratory Mass at St. John Nepomucene Church on Aug. 19 with a dinner following. Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and David and Catarina Rziha, Isobel, Samuel, and Kathrine were among those attending.

Anna Weber visited her grandparents, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, the evening of Aug 20.

Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen, Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro, Russ and Julie Kerbs and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner in Hillsboro Aug. 19.

Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan and Lori Moldenhauer were visitors Aug. 20 of Frank and Anna Mae Stika.

Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene Aug. 18. She was a dinner guest of Jeremy and Allison Sluder and Brooklyn, along with with Clayton and Leah Kerbs and Porter of Topeka, Tammy West of Dodge City and Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene.

Tom and Dee Duggan and Jane Vajnar attended the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting Aug. 17 in Marion.

A correction to recent news item: Mildred Bernhardt and Adeline Bernhardt attended the Bernhardt family reunion, not the Backhus family renion.
