Tennis players see some success

Hillsboro tennis players Dakota Klein and Jacob Isaac each logged a victory Thursday at a Trojans home meet.

After being defeated 8-0 by opponents from Sterling and Circle, Klein shut out a Chapman opponent in his third match to place seventh in No. 1 singles play for the day.

Isaac lost 8-6 to a Circle player and 8-3 to a Conway Springs opponent before coming back to defeat a Chapman player 8-1 to place seventh in No. 2 singles.

“It was great for Dakota and Jacob to each get a singles win,” coach Stuart Holmes said. “They both did a good job of persevering in the wind. There was noticeable improvement.”

Klein and Isaac previously went 0-3 in doubles play April 5 at a tournament in Smokey Valley. Dylan Wiens also went 0-3 in singles play that day.
