USD 410 approves budget

The USD 410 board of education approved its budget as it was presented in the meeting agenda’s appendix. A copy of the budget that appeared in the Aug. 6 edition of the Hillsboro Star-Journal had incorrect items.

The incorrect items were the amount of 2014 tax to be levied, which was $289,630, not $298,630 as the published budget indicated; and the actual tax rate for the 2012-13 total USD expenditures, which was 62.502, not 65.502 as the published budget indicated.

The USD 410 board approved the correct version of the budget, which featured a 2.088 mill decrease, which equates to a savings of $24 on a $100,000 home.
